Pre-Cana (Marriage Preparation) Course

Huntington, NY -- The Department of the Family Apostolate of the Exarchate conducted a Pre-Cana (Marriage Preparation) Course on April 27, 28 at the Seminary of the Immaculate Conception, Huntington, New York. 15 persons from the Tristate New York parishes participated in the Course. The course was inaugurated by His Excellency the Most Rev. Dr. Thomas Mar Eusebius, Bishop of the Exarchate. Classes were offered on the following topics: Sacramental and Liturgical Theology of Marriage and the Meaning of the Signs and Symbols of Malankara Catholic Marriage (Most Rev. Dr. Thomas Mar Eusebius), Marriage Communication and Family Relationship (Rev. Msgr. Peter Kochery), Marriage Canon Laws (Rev. Dr. George Oonnoonny), Theology of Body, the Meaning and Purpose of Human Sexuality and Sexual Morality (Mr. Binu Abraham), Intimacy & Sexuality (Dr. Sindhu Sunil), Stewardship/ Family Budgeting (Mr. Binu George) and Faith & Family Spirituality (Rev. Fr. Mathai Mannoorvadakkethil). There was also a Discussion & Sharing Session on Present Day Challenges on Marriage as well as Adoration and the celebration of the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Certificates were awarded to the participants by His Excellency. The Course was coordinated by Rev. Fr. Mathai Mannoorvadakkethil, Director of the Department of Family Apostolate in the Exarchate.
