Maundy (Holy) Thursday

ELMONT, N.Y – On Wednesday evening, March 27, His Excellency Mar Eusebius celebrated the phesaho services at St. John Chrysostom Pro-Cathedral. He was assisted by Reverend Fathers Abraham Lukose and Sathyan Antony, OIC. At the conclusion of the canonical hours, His Excellency washed the feet of twelve male parishioners, anointing them with oil, and kissing them. This action commemorates the humility of our Lord as He washed the feet of the Apostles at the Last Supper. Afterwards, His Excellency had his feet washed by Rev. Fr. Abraham Lukose, the Pastor of St. John Chrysostom Parish, representing Simon Peter.

His Excellency, assisted by the Reverend Fathers and faithful of the parish, celebrated a solemn Holy Qurbono commemorating our Lord's Institution of the Eucharist at the Last Supper.
