Faith in Unity: The 2024 MCYMNA Conference

The 2024 MCYMNA Conference, held in Austin, Texas, from August 1 to 4, was a vibrant gathering of young people from across North America, united for a weekend of faith, fellowship, and fun. The Conference opened with a lively mix of introductions, a scavenger hunt, and a movie night, setting a joyful tone and fostering new connections.

Friday was a day packed with engaging activities. Matt and Linda Kuriakose led a thought-provoking talk on navigating faith within relationships. The excitement of a basketball tournament highlighted friendly competition and sportsmanship. A serene period of adoration offered a moment for reflection, which was followed by a dynamic Chai and Chat panel discussion on current topics. The day was wrapped up with team games and socializing, further strengthening the bonds between attendees.

Saturday was dedicated to spiritual growth and heritage celebration. Fr. JerMathew’sw’s insightful talk guided participants in self-reflection before confession. The Holy Mass was followed by an enlightening discussion led by Samson Zachariah and Jeny Chacko on the Malankara CatholChurch’sh’s rich history and traditions. The day featured a spirited volleyball tournament and a mouth-watering Texas BBQ picnic. The evening crescendoed with an energetic concert by Prodigyl, a Malayalee-American rapper, and a lively dance party with DJ CUB3D, a Malayalee-American DJ.
Sunday began with the final Holy Qurbono celebrated by Bishop Philipos Mar Stephanos, followed by a heartfelt closing ceremony. MCYMNA leaders expressed their gratitude for the conference's success, and awards were presented to tournament champions. The coConferencelso unveiled the design for the 25th anniversary of MCYMNA and introduced the inaugural Malankara Catholic podcast “, "Tea with Thom”s," marking a new era in faith sharing.

This Conference was a profound testament to God's grace and love within the Malankara Church. It deepened our faith and enhanced our appreciation for our Malankara heritage. Embracing the theme “f "Malankara Mentali”y," the event encouraged us to place God at the center of our lives and to live with discipline and love toward others.

The MCYMNA conference was attended by 196 participants, including Bishop Philipos Mar Stephanos, many priests and sisters, animators, and youth. The Eparchy congratulates the MCYMNA Board members for their hard work, dedication, and prayerful servant leadership in making the Conference efficient, smooth, and spiritually fruitful.
