Eparchy Launches "Support Our Future Shepherds" Campaign

  • Posted on: 3 December 2024

As the Eparchy of St. Mary Queen of Peace prepares to celebrate the joyous season of Christmas, a time marked by hope, renewal, and the love of Christ, a significant initiative is being introduced to invest in the future of pastoral leadership within the Church.

The “Support Our Future Shepherds” campaign has been launched to raise $100,000 annually to support the education and formation of seminarians. This year, the focus is on providing vital resources to two seminarians, Bro. Christopher Thomas and Bro. George Thomas Kochumalil, who have committed themselves to serving the Church as future priests.

In announcing the campaign, His Excellency, Most Rev. Dr. Philipos Mar Stephanos Thottathil, underscored the critical importance of supporting seminarians in their journey toward priesthood:
“Our seminarians are the future of our Church. They will guide the faithful, inspire with the Word of God, and bring Christ’s love to all. This initiative ensures they receive the formation, education, and resources necessary to lead our Eparchy with faith and integrity.”

The campaign allows the faithful to contribute through one-time donations or recurring pledges, which may be made monthly or annually. Regardless of its amount, every contribution will have a lasting and profound impact on the formation of these future shepherds and the spiritual well-being of the Eparchy as a whole.

The informational brochures distributed to the parishes outline how to participate in the campaign. Contributions may be directed as specified in the provided materials, ensuring proper allocation toward this vital cause.

As the season of giving approaches, the Eparchy calls upon its faithful to come together in support of this initiative, fostering the growth of vocations and strengthening the spiritual foundation of the Church.

“May this Christmas season bring joy to your hearts, peace to your homes, and the light of Christ to your lives,” Bishop Stephanos remarked in his message to the Eparchy.
