Service of the Washing of the Feet

His Excellency the Most Rev. Thomas Mar Eusebius conducted the service of the Washing of the Feet on the Maundy Thursday at the St. Mary’s Malankara Catholic parish, New Rochelle. In the Malankara traditions, only bishops are entitled to do this service. Commemorating event of Jesus washing the feet of his twelve disciples, the bishop ceremoniously washed the feet of twelve people from the parish, including the parish priest. After this service, the bishop officiated the Maundy Thursday Holy Qurbono in the parish. Rev. Fr. Sunny Mathew, the parish priest made the arrangements for the celebration.
